Sky Irish prices compared to UK. Are we getting a raw deal?

    Hi,

I have the sky all inclusive package which has been €60 for over a year now.
I have read on another forum that the all inclusive package in the UK costs STG£38 and is going up to £40.
If you use the exchange rates during the year between the GBP and the Euro to compare the prices you get the following

Rate today 1.45 Price in Euro €55
Rate at lowest during year 1.37 Price in Euro €52
Rate at average during year 1.44 Price in Euro €54.50
Rate at highest during year 1.50 Price in Euro €57

That means on average for 2003 the average person in Ireland pays approx €66 more than the average person in the UK which doesn't appear to be fair. Sky may say that we have RTE, TV3 etc but the UK have Ch4, ITV and Ch 5 to counteract this. They also get a number of interactive options which are not available to us.

The increase in the UK subscription from £38 to £40 usually means that there will be an increase also in the Irish Sub but with the conversions above Sky would need a harder neck than they already have to increase the Irish subs any further, they should be giving every Irish customer a small refund.

Sorry for the nervous s******, but Sky giving a refund???. There are two chances, and one is Bob Hope.

PS Damian, Why is S****** a banned word?
