It will happen over here but that website doesn't tell ya too much about the thrills and spills of direct TV, just the prices for our american cousins!

    What's so futuristic about DirecTV?

    Sky+?

What's the idea with those triple lnbs? Why don't the just stack the satellites at the one position like astra?

From what I think, the triple LNB is picking up 3 different satellite positions (bit like a monoblock i suppose).

It's very cheap I admit but it will never be that cheap here. Did News Corp ever buy DirecTV? I realise Echostar had bought it but I thought I heard that NewsCorp were going to try again to buy DirecTV from Echostar?

    Ah found it!
This triple LNB dish receive signals from DIRECTV's three satellites to offer local channels in any areas served by DIRECTV as well as HDTV programming.

This Dish is ready for the future.

looking at pictures on that site the menus look so much nicer than boring old Sky. take note Murdoch

Murdoch owns a third of them iirc. ;)

News Corp are in the process of taking over all of the shares in DirecTV that they do not already own, and they hope to have full final approval / closure on the deal by year-end.

    Murdoch obviously is the future.

I'm sure Sky Italia had nothing to do with the Blackout of Italy. After all Sky want you to watch TV?

I thought the Newscorp takeover of DirecTV was blocked?

Yes Tivo in USA with built in DirecTV is much more like Sky+

The only trend I can see studing USA over last 20 years is that we will get fatter. If the USA is the future. (I can't see us geting in to the unilateral invasion stuff).

The triple LNB thing is nothing special, they have channels spread out over lots of satellites, and depending on the package you take or if you want all of them then you may have to get anywhere from 1 - 3 lnbs, maybe more.

Like for example if you are hispanic and you want all of the channels from Mexico etc, as well as all of the US channels you will need several lnbs etc., etc.

Nice and easy 3 room installation as well!!.
