Chorus Digital Record function

I have recently got chorus digital and a new Samsung set top box. If i go into the menu there is a record option. When recording I can't change channel or bring up menus. When finished the decoder turns its-self off. My question is what is it doing and where is it recording to? Chorus helpfully did not suppy a manual.

is this like a personal planner on the box. that would be handy on Sky. there is some gimp always changing channels when i record stuff

Unless Chorus have introduced a TiVo / Sky+ style hard drive to the box (and if they had, I suspect they would have made a rather large song and dance about it), I rather suspect it is a personal planner type-thing. You are probably expected to set your video yourself.
