I am looking for advice on how to get local US channels in Ireland. I want to be able to watch the New England Patriots play on Sundays which is transmitted on a local Boston channel. I have looked up www.lyngsat.com and found the channels I want are available from a number of satellites. What I do now is beyond me. I have no dish and am not interested in SKY. Can anyone advise me on the minimum amount of equipment I need ? Many Thanks in advance.

    No chance, I'm afraid, Greenhills4.

No satellites that serve a domestic US audience cannot be received in Ireland, as they are too far over the horizon.

If you have boradband you could always try watching it online. Bottom line is you they are on satelite you are going to need a dish - if you have to go searching for a particular sat you are going to need something more sophisticated then a Sky dish and a reasonable tech knowledge.

Sky Sports show a resaonable amount of NFL plus there is also a specialist American Sports channel on the same platform - NASN

NASN only show NFL magazine type shows. no coverage of games. Sky Sports have those

From next season there may be a chance of getting NFL Sunday Ticket on Sky. But in the meantime the combination of Sky Sports and NASN is your best bet. Of course this also necessitates a dish as the football is on Sky sports Xtra.

You can get NASN as a stand alone without having to take out a Sky subscription package but then again you'll want Sky Sports extra to watch the games!!

Or you could go down the motorised route and get NFL from FSN Middle East and METV. They usually have different games to the ones shown by Sky and also show the Fox/CBS pre, half and post game shows. METV also shows the US ads.

In a similar vein to Greenhills4's request does anybody know if it is possible to get ESPN Radio, AFN radio or any other US radio station for that matter on Sky Digital? The Red Sox are in the playoffs and the games will be on radio. I am aware that the games are live on NASN but the €15 p/m fee is a bit expensive for me, as is dial-up internet (they are available on mlb.com)
