    Hello,

Can anyone confirm the size of dish required to pick up RTÉ TV in or around Alicante in Spain. Need to know for a friend who will be out there for the rugby world cup :).

Astra 2D is usually picked up on Costa del Sol / Gibraltar on 1.8, although I don't know of anyone getting RTÉ. However, all other channels- BBC, ITV, Hallmark, Disney seem OK.

The 2M recommendation may be because of this issue described Here . Of course 2.4M would indeed be better but it will not fit on a balcony whereas 2m will ...at the expense of the balcony.

There are some Dublin skangers going around installing 2M+ ground mounted dishes in the Costa somewhere (east of Malaga I think) and then stealing them back again as the dishes are worth more than the receivers. I know of people who stash the dish in the house if they are not there and get a local over to tune it if they balls up the refit when they come back :D

I noted that the permanent expats in that eastern part of Spain tend to have 2m dishes anyway, and they should know.

    There's a hotspot around Alicante ! Malaga is ok on 1.5 (good 1.5) .
    Adios
