past tense of forbid?

    What's the past tense of Forbid? Is it forbidded, forbode or forbade... forbidded sounds dodgy.

    The past tense of forbid is forbade
    as in "I forbade her to do that"

    Another context is " It is forbidden to do that"

    You do understand that's the adjectival form and nothing particularly to do with the past tense of the verb 'forbid'?
