Sry for the off topic post,

Am trying to get past a Linux proxy to the outside world. I can resolve name - quake.indigo.ie to 194.125 etcetc but cannot connect to it. The same with any outside mail servers, can resolve but no connect.

The linux system itself is a diald net access proxy - with no restrictions.

    Any ideas ??

    Slosh.

Try running cheapo on the proxy as a suspended process, and connect to that. Then connect to proxy/cheapo, and then to quake server!
