Work From Home Help

I've been trying ot help a friend of mine find work that she can do at home. She has a kid and has just recently had another. Up to then she was working in Customer Care for Dell. She'd do anything from stuffing envelopes to copy-typing, anything. The trouble is find the work. When I try to do searches all I get is page after page of get rich at home scams, network-marketing rubbish etc.

Does anyone know of any companies that may outsource certain work (like mailing, enveloping mailshots, etc), or perhaps you know of a recruitment company that handles this sort of thing...

    I'd be grateful.

I was searching around for a mate of mine a while ago. She was in the exact same situation as your friend and the only areas that we found were data entry or seretarial stuff etc. But even though that work was advertised, none of it ever took came to pass..

There was a company in north dublin, near enough to Swords who advertised a while back looking for people to do this. I contacted them about it, they said they would send me out the details, but never bothered sending them out, when i called back they wouldnt even answer the phone and that was the end of that.

To this day, she has had to resort to minding other peoples kids because there is nothing out there that will allow her to work from home unless its web design or something like that.

She can try registering her services on that contracting website that someone posted about on here a while back, but i havent heard of any work coming from that place as its not that well advertised and as a result no one uses it..

Her best bet, is to go looking in her local area, maybe advertise with small businesses to do typing, data entry etc as most of them end up piling the work on one person or else they have no one to do it.

Most of the small and medium companies in Ireland just havent come to realise that working from home is a viable option with some people and that was they can save office space and costs as a result.

Best of luck with it anyway..

Yeah I've found similar.. I used to live in the UK and a lot of the big companies like Glaxo often have lists of people they get to stuff envelopes with samples etc, but I'm having no luck finding anything like that here.

I've contacted a few recruiters in case anything comes past them, but they only thing I seem t be able to find is for Telesales, where she has to spend all day trying to sell stuff.

She doesn't have internet access at home, though she has my laptop if she can get work doing data entry etc. I'll see what she thinks about putting an add in local shops, Buy & Sell etc, you never know.

best of look with yours anyway

    Hi edove

Has your friend had any luck yet? I am a mum with a 2 year old son and have been working from home for the last 18 months selling childrens books. The company I work for have been publishing books for 25 years and are a member of the dsa - so no scam here!!

Many mums in Ireland have joined over last couple of months and are doing really well, dads and people with no children are also welcome. Incase anyone shoots me down in flames, I don't get paid for introducing people, only get paid by training, supporting and helping people. I love doing it, someone helped me out 18 months ago and now I help others, it keeps us mothers sane!!

There are no minimum sales targets, no pressures, no boss, it really is a great way to earn extra money and give you something else to think about apart from the kids.

Please ask her to contact me via nicolajbowden@hotmail.com if she would like further info or I can sent it to you.

    Hope I can help.

P.S. I did ask permission from whitewashman before I posted this, so please be nice to me!!!!

I've just emailed niccib coz what she says sounds interesting!
I have to also throw my hands up in despair at the lack of genuine opportunities for homeworkers. I chose to stay at home with my little girl and now, although luckily we can get by on my partners salary, I find myself a bit at a loose end, and sometimes a little bored and feeling inadequate. All of my friends have full time jobs and as a mum in her very early 20's, there is no other stay at home parent of my age living anywhere near me.
I'm glad to have the chance to be with my little girl, but sometimes I miss the challenge of work (something I always rose to). I even considered going back to work recently, but changed my mind.
It would be great to have something to keep the old grey matter in top shape...

Hi as so many people have e-mailed me asking for further information, I thought you might like a few more details regarding the job.

I sell children's books to toddler groups, preschools, friends and family. You receive excellent commission, there are no minimum sales targets and no pressure as you are your own boss.

No-one who does this job is a salesperson, people think that selling is making people buy something they do not want, people love our books and want to buy them. I just recommend books suitable for the child's age and interest. The customer then decides what they like.

This job is not just about money, even though you can earn as much as you like, you also, have fun, meet lots of brilliant people, and are recognised and rewarded for hard work and achievement. 21 organisers went on a Carribean cruise this year, next year it is Sorrento. I have just come back from an all expenses paid trip at a luxury spa hotel. I can't stress enough how great it is and how much I love it.

If you would like more info please e-mail me at nicolajbowden@hotmail.com You do not need any experience and will receive lots of training and support. Anyone can join in Europe or with a BFPO address.
