Car free zone

Whatever happened to the car-free zone in the city centre?

First off there were all these signs made (at cost to the taxpayer) and we all lauded the idea as one of greatness.
Then little Seamas steps in and declares the signs illegal so they are all fixed at the taxpayer's expense and then... ?

What happened to it, it seems to have been brushed under the carpet.

It wasn't designed as a car free zone, the idea was to encourage motorists to go around the city centre than straight through it. Part of the problem last year was it was introduced at the same time as a number of turn bans.

They are also doing a campaing on encouraging deliveries to be done responsibly (they have a draft leaflet done).

    Expect publicity in due course.
