Apologies if this is known about all ready.

We carried out the installation today of a second Sky digibox.
The reciever we used was a panasonic tu-dsb40. The customer asked us to tune in bbc3 & 4. Was'nt sure of the frequency off hand so just guessed a few frequencies.
We typed in 10.817, h, 22, 5/6 and all the different regions of itv came in. We tried the same on the main digibox and message came back "no signal found". Tried the same on my own one at home and the same message came back. Is this a known fact.?:(

I can see London, Central, HTV Wales & West and West Country listed on my box (with Irish sub card inserted) when I use that frequency (not all the regions are transmitted on that frequency so they're the only ones that should come up). Obviously they'll come up with an 08 message if I store them but they are listed

I did not even get as far as you with my reciever. I just kept on getting "no signal found". But in the customer's house, I was actually watching the itv channel's!
there was a fair list of channels also, id say nearly 10, did'nt get a chance to count them do.

was the second box running off the same dish as the first one, or a new one?

    Installer
You didn't mention what kind of card is in the second box.

    A mirror Irish subscription card??

Also whether 101 to 104 were producing Irish channels with a 08 message??

Are you sure that it's not just a UK ftv solus card, if it's a version one or two cardof those it doesn't have to be married to the box to get the channels you mention.

Not enough information in the first post.

This card was ordered by the customer over a month ago, it is a mirrored irish card. Another agent was to carry out install, but never showed up.
The epg starts at 101, every channel is there and no error's anywhere. I am about to carry out the same job today with the very same circumstances and hopefully all goes well there too.

I got a second box installed on friday and i get no signal found on the frequency also. Might be a one off where they sent out wrong card, probably sent them a English sub card instead of an irish one. A mate was getting them all until he got the new card recently!

It's just an anomoly( but enjoy :) )
It's been reported on this board many times before.
Usually though when, the admins at Sky send out a confused UK signal to an irish card, they get the Irish channels on 101 to 104 with a 08 message.

A recent post/thread here for example indicated that they rang the UK number with their caller id turned off and ended up being put through to the Irish section ( or someone most likely beside the first person ) who ended up giving them the Irish EPG, with 08 on the Irish channels and the UK terrestrials in the clear on other channels.

It's probably just a box that they tick on the screen in front of them, except that the people that usually answer the Irish calls cannot tick that box, whereas the rest up in Scotland can tick it for all or summat like that.

    Hi Man,
Most likely it is something as simple as ticking a box on a screen.

Pity they would'nt do it a little more often.!!

I called to another customer today who has not been recieving any irish channels since she was installed.....turn's out it was her card after all, but I went ahead and tuned in the itv channels and hey presto THERE THEY WERE.
That's two cards i've come accross in a few days, there must be loads of cards out there doing the same thing!!!

You should look up channel four and fives frequency details on www.lyngsat.com and tune them in aswell as they will be there most likely and possibly ITV 2 as well as it thinks it has the UK family sub card.
