POP Mail settings on o2

Winters

I have a Sony Ericsson T310 and have been trying to get POP3 working on my phone across the o2 network. I do have it setup right, and also similar to my Outlook so I did expect it to work. When I try to Send & Recieve though I get the message that it Cannot Connect to Server.

Anyone got it working or the same problem?

Postpay GPRS Email Settings for the Ericsson T68i

From the main menu scroll to Connect > Data Comm > Data accounts > Add account.

Select GPRS Data and enter the following settings:

Name: gprs email
APN: open.internet
User id: gprs
Password: gprs

Select Save and click Yes, again select the account just created (o2 gprs) and click Edit.

Password request: Off
Allow calls: GPRS only
IP address: leave blank
DNS: 62.40.32.33

From the menu select Messages > E-mail > Options > Edit account > Add new and enter the following settings:

Name: o2 email
Connect using: gprs email
Protocol: POP3
Incoming server: pop3.o2.ie*
Incoming port: 110
Mailbox: your o2.ie username (e.g. joebloggs@o2.ie)*
Password: your o2.ie password*
Outgoing server: smtp.o2.ie
Outgoing port: 25
Email address: your o2.ie mail address (e.g. joebloggs@o2.ie)
From name: your name as you would like it displayed to mail recipients
Signature: select this if a signature is wanted (optional)
Copy Outgoing: select this to send the emails to another account as well (optional)
Check interval: select to set an interval on checking mail (optional)

Select account from Messages > Email > Options > o2 email


CSD Email Settings for the Ericsson T68i

From the main menu scroll to Connect > Data Comm > Data accounts > Add account.

Select CSD Data and enter the following settings:

Name: csd email
Phone number: 0866066020
User id: register@o2.ie
Password: guest

Select Save and click Yes, again select the account just created (csd email) and click Edit.

Password request: Off
Data rate: 14400
Dial type: ISDN
DNS: 62.40.32.33

From the menu select Messages > E-mail > Options > Edit account > Add new and enter the following settings:

Name: o2 email
Connect using: csd email
Protocol: POP3
Incoming server: pop3.o2.ie*
Incoming port: 110
Mailbox: o2.ie username (e.g. joebloggs@o2.ie)*
Password: o2.ie password*
Outgoing server: smtp.o2.ie
Outgoing port: 25
Email address: o2.ie mail address (e.g. joebloggs@o2.ie)*
From name: your name as they would like it displayed to mail recipients
Signature: select this if a signature is wanted (optional)
Copy Outgoing: select this to send the emails to another account as well (optional)
Check interval: select to set an interval on checking mail (optional)

Select account from Messages > Email > Options > o2 email


*these settings will need to be changed accordingly if using a non o2 account
