Help with V1 FTV card issue.

Sorry if its been done already but I've been away for last 9 months. Before I went away I had a sky Irish sub (out of contract)which I was using in conjuction with a V1 FTV card. I cancelled my Irish sky sub before I left and before the new V2 cards were introduced. On my return I put my old V1 FTV card in my box and to my surprise it works. I now want to take out an Irish sub again but I'm afraid if I sub to the same box the new V2 card they send me will make my FTV card obselete when I put it in the box. My other option would be to get my wife to sub in her name to get a new box. (I'd rather not have all the hassle with the phone connection if possible).
Can anyone tell me if my old FTV card is still working because I have not yet loaded a new V2 card or are most V1 FTV cards still working.
Also can anyone confirm if cancelled english sub will work as a FTV.
Thanks. and once again sorry if its been done already.

I'd get a new box etc in your wife's name and keep your ITV/CH4/CH5 box active.

Curry's are doing a deal for €25 installation - we did that and now have a brand new box and subscription for €25.
(I'm not sure if the offer is still available but it was only about 3 weeks ago when we did this).

Thanks for the reply but can you tell me if the reason my V1 FTV card is still working is because I haven't put a V2 card in it yet and if I do insert a V2 card will I lose the FTV channels.

    Thanks.

I can only guess that your FTV card is still working because it hasn't been 'turned off'.
While you were away ;) SKY had what became known as the 'message of death' see these threads here and here too.

You are correct in thinking that if you use a V2 sub card it will kill your V1 FTV card. Second box is definately the way to go. You will either have to get a quad LNB or have a second dish. An independant installer is probably the best way to go.
