Netsource upgrade

Has anybody upgraded to their business package from teir Soho package? I read elsewhere that they are charging the full connection charge for this upgrade. Is this still the case? If so it seems a bit crazy. Is it fair of them to do this or is it a legitamate cost for them to upgrade a customer?

I was one of the ones who had their connection throttled. I have waited for an improvement in the service but their has been none. I've read about the new contention ration for us heavy downloaders and I don't know if I have been included in this or not. All I know is that I got better speed with my dial up modem.

As I'm on the topic - the RADSL package is advertised as being broadband. I thought that to offer a broadband service you have to guarantee a certain speed. I could get the speed I'm getting now for 1/2 the price with a flat-rate dial up package. Are Netsource at least in breach of false advertising?

Eircom don't allow self-install for their business packages, which is what netsource are reselling. So weither you want to or not, you gotta have an engineer call out to you and fit a splitter. Untill eircom introduce self-installtion for the ADSL packages, we're not likely to see the connection charge being scrapped for upgrades

With 512K at 48:1 contention, the only speed you're guaranteed is at least 10K

I'm upgrading and they're only charging me €81.81, which is the price of the self-install for the SOHO service. Don't let them try to charge you the full price. I sent off a few angry emails threatening to cancel payment and they came back with the magic figure above.

Jonnie_Onion, you say that you are upgrading - how long is the process? I was on to them today and I was old that they had only done the upgrade once before and it hadn't gone smoothly. Was this a reference to yourself? Have you had any trouble upgrading?
