fishin on the shannon down from athlone today
on the way back i found a pike floating in the middle of the river
the pecktrel fins were still goin so i pulled over to se if i could do anything
we got the net under it and lifted her out to have a look

I FOUND A DEAD BAIT RIG IN THE BACK OF ITS MOUTH

THE LINE WAS CUT OFF IT CLEANLY WITH A KNIFE , NOT BY THE PIKES TEETH , ALL I HAD TO DO WAS TAKE THE HOOkS OUT WITH MY FORCEPS

some idiot obviously didnt know how to handle a pike to unhook it

I SPENT A GOOD 10 MINS TRYIN TO REVIVE THE FISH BUT IT WAS TOO LATE

i took it over to a reed bed and dumped it in there

oh BTW it wieghed 13 lbs on the button

Could have been to hard for the angler to land and the rig snap off but still it being the anglers fault but what i hate is when angler throw trout that havent been at all revied back in too the water the shock will kill so they sould know and also when they life packets of hooks ,magot containers ,crisp packets and so fort m8 well done for trying to help the poor pike and unlucky for it death..........:(
