Croke Park streaker charges are changed
    From:ireland.com
    Friday, 19th September, 2003

A new charge was brought yesterday against a hurling supporter who streaked during last July's Leinster final at Croke Park.

Kevin Caulfield (24), Pondfield, New Ross, Co Wexford, was originally charged with indecency and breach of the peace after he was arrested during the Kilkenny/Wexford match on July 6th last.

Yesterday, a chief prosecution solicitor told Dublin District Court those two charges were being withdrawn and a new charge of offending modesty and causing scandal by parading naked was being preferred.

Sgt Declan Yeates told the court that, after the new charge was read out to him yesterday, Caulfield had nothing to say.

His solicitor asked for a four-week adjournment and he was remanded on continuing bail to appear again on October 30th.

Its so fúcking stupid pursuing a mickey mouse offence like this when the courts are so far behind with real cases to be tried.

"Sgt Declan Yeates told the court that, after the new charge was read out to him yesterday, Caulfield had nothing to say."

No wonder, the guy was probably trying to hide his laughter. "offending modesty and causing scandal by parading naked" is that the latest charge the Gards have on their menu these days. Or is it "offending modesty and causing scandal". If it is the latter then their charge of offending modesty and causing scandal by parading naked causes scandal and offends my modesty. I think that whoever created this charge should be charged with offending modesty and causing scandal by creating ludicrous charges.

    Put that man in jail!

Male streakers should just get a kick in the nads once caught, then released. Female streakers should be encouraged to do it again.

well said bugler, my sentiments exactly. :)

All the Garda are good for is puttin old ladies in jail for not payin tv licenses, beatin kids, kickin kittens, arrestin people over bin charges(rubbish) and bein sliced up to make Hazzlet, that expensive meat found in all good butchers, mmmmmmm.
