Games in 2005

When we see the likes of the PS3, Xbox 2 and the next Nintendo machine, what can we expect to see from the games? I guess all will be onliners, but graphically what can we expect?

I guess we will have not just realistic faces on characters, but completly realistic locations and objects. I guess there will be more freedom in games where you can just explore (GTA 3), or perhaps download complete towns.

    hmmm

who knows, theres talk of the ps3 having a new chip thats been in development for 7 years thatll blow everything away.

as always what we can expect is better graphics maybe an alternative to dvd storage as a means of delivering a game, and possibly the download of fully licensed games off the internet

    my 2 cents

there is a rumor that on the ps3 half-life 2 will be a title so look at that as a start to the graphics

Its seems like that the PS3, PSP, Xbox 2 and the N5 are moving into the spotlight since the games industry quietened down a couple of months ago - anyone notice?

Realistic and refined graphics will obviously make it into the new consoles. I just hope that the next generation of games (woah, we're moving quickly) feature great technicalities, and push things to the next level. By then, online gaming on consoles should be ironed out and ready, hopefully Nintendo will jump into the foray at that time. All in all though, I just want to be suprised by the new consoles. I don't even think about it now, I'm still satisfied with this generation.

THey should have wheels on them..you know, to push them from one room to the other.
And possibly fins, to lower wind resistance.

I heard a scurrilous rumour Sony are going to team up with Atari and make the jaguar 2, instead of the PS3, you know, just to give the Jaguar another crack.

Dear god let the N5 be good... could sink nintendo altogether if it doesnt do really well. twill be interesting to see what sony do with the ps3 and psp though. id love to see xbox2 (xenon, allegedly) flop but micro$oft will just keep throwing money at it. id be interested to see what nintendo do for the next game boy also, would be cool if there was a way of making it use the GC discs...

Ah, so we're heading into rumoursville, where Console X will blow ebverything away, lightyears ahead etc. And then lo and behold , it's not.
I think (at least from what I've seen) HL2 is going to redefine gaming in the near future. Not just for the excellent graphics but the new levels of environment interaction.

I predict that the Xbox 2 will be the size of a whole room, and so expensive that only the five richest kings of Europe can afford one.
