ITV News in the Guide

    It's ridiculous that this channel is in the small box in the 'guide'. I never use the guide, because it means having to switch off whatever i'm in the middle of watching. This can hardly be a technical problem, as your channel remains the same under the 'help' screen.

    Is there any chance of NTL changing this to simply keep the channel you're watching on in the small box?

    This has been brought up quite a few times in the past, However that mini screen was originally & always supposed to be used for previewing Front Row films, but because we no longer have Front Row so they just show ITV News instead. (There doesn't seem to be any reason why it has to be ITV News) Formerly E4 used to be on it.

    It's a pity there is no way to change the channel showing in the mini screen in the tv guide (it can be very annoying). With the software version that we currently have, it won't allow the change of the channel. Personally, I would use the guide a lot more if it showed the channel you are currently watching. However, I don't see them making any more alterations to our current release of software. (v.5.36)

    Maybe if we ever actually get CR3 (The latest software version) we might be able to.

    Just to clarify, those screenshots should be from the ex-Cable and Wireless version of the CR3 software. I don't think there are any screenshots of the seperate ex-CableTel version yet.

    Having the current channel displayed in this box would be a good idea, indeed. Top of a list of good ideas to improve the EPG...

    Absolutely, i forgot to mention that theese screenshots are are from the ex-cwc (bromley) areas.

    No the Origional (ex-CableTel) areas in the UK have not got the CR3 update yet however testing is to commence soon. (And from what I hear it is to start in Northern Ireland first).

    However the software will be very similar to that pictured above. (Although, it is widely believed that the pink/purple colour scheme will be replaced by the new ntl corporate colour scheme of blue. It sounds very nice)
