Cooling of sky+ box...

    hi all,
    I just got a sky+ box :) and I don't know if the fan is broken on it or it's on a heat switch or something... It gets a bit hot after a wile and I have never heard the fan on... anyone help??

    Sky+ boxes can get VERY hot. This is normal.

    Just make sure there is lots of space around it for ventilation and that it's not stacked up on top of lots of other heat generating equipment (such as an amp).

    Thanks for your replay,, it's on it's own and working fine.. only thing is the fan never comes on.. hmm.. anyway.. thanks!!!

    I put the receivers on their sides to allow a vertical airflow across the circuit board. PSU on top otherwise you just make the chips hotter and make sure the vents on the bottom aren't blocked.
