The article below is from Media Guardian. It sounds really impreassive. The question is - after the whole David Blaine thing, will it be available in Ireland ?

Sky unveil 'Big Daddy' of interactive

Sky Sports yesterday unveiled the new interactive format for this season's Champions League coverage that is their biggest weapon in the ratings war with ITV.
The satellite broadcaster's system will allow fans to switch between all of Europe's top games at the touch of a red button. Digital viewers will be able to select which match they wish to watch from a feed that will take in every game not covered by ITV. The development is the latest application of the interactive technology that has already expanded Sky's coverage of 10 other sports.

Piers Croton, executive director of Sky Sports Active, said: "What we have is a one-stop shop for viewers to find out what's happening in the Champions League. This is the Big Daddy of interactive television."

This season, Sky will cede first pick of the Tuesday night matches to ITV but will enjoy exclusive rights to Wednesday night action. The two broadcasters agreed to share coverage of the Champions League after winning the rights last September. ITV were yesterday unconcerned by Sky's simultaneous coverage. "It won't make a huge difference to us," said a source. "Most people want to see British sides playing live and that's what we can provide."

It there alright, all six screens of it. So much football, only one pair of eyes, do we really need it?

    I think it's good.
Watched the Real game tonight, but flicked every now and then to the Milan one.

    ITV2 had Chelsea live.

And there will be 8 screens tonight.

Sky get to show 14 of the 16 games each week, ITV get the other two.

i really like the layout of it and the way you only have to press the number on the remote to change matches

I thought it was great, but maybe erring on the side of overload. I spent most of the time just staring at the mosaic, and flicking to specific games whenever it looked like something had happened. So I never really got the gist of any one match. I was also really impressed with the score ticker, which was far better than the BBC's implementation of the same idea during Grandstand.

Seeing as Arsenal and Celtic are my teams of choice, I probably won't spend too much time with the eight screen option tonight, but I can wait to watch a match from Kiev or Moscow when we're deep into winter, and the blizzards are under way!
