Problems swapping FTV Cards

I was trying to prove to another guy that you could swap FTV cards between boxes, so this is what happened. I put the vers 2 card into my other box, yes it worked ok, but then i returned it to its original box and i have a nr of problems the most serious one is that i have lost Channel 4. The sreen says i must subscribe to this channel. I have ITV West BBC 2 but just a blank screen for BBC 1 South west. I can get all these channels on a second FTV card and box that I have'nt messed around with. So the question is, whats gone wrong? Will I be able to get Channel 4 back if i leave the card in for a day or so, or have i someway messed up the card?

C4 and C5 seem to be missing off my V2 card as well. But i did leave it out of the box for a long while.

There is no reason why you should not get a picture on BBC1 SW. What happens if you take out the FTV card and try it with no card in?

I would leave the FTV card in overnight and hopefully it will return to full operational order. If not try doing an installation from the hidden menu (Services 4 - 0 - 1 - Select). Make sure the phone line is not connected.

BBC doesn't use card. Boot power with upside down card to see if all BBC are working as the box "remembers" cards.

Cards can easily miss an update and then will not work on ITV/C4/Five for a few hours.

C4 often seems to go first.

In my experience it is co-incidental if a "New Install" fixes it. The "keys" (or whatever transmission the card missed) are sent periodically. C4 starts working when the "next" one is received.

Don't put a type 2 card into a box that normally has a type 1 FTV card as you may not be able to "go back".
If you must, do it (swap cards) when the power is disconnected.

Robert, do you get a message on the screen when you try to view BBC1?

What happens when you pull out the card and switch to BBC1 SW then (or after turning the card upside down and rebooting?)? Or any of the other BBC1 varieties?
