You won't see Dave Allen, Bily Connolly, Bono or David Grey here but the craic is just as good and its cheap. However some of the new acts have very good potential and deserve a bit of support. Check it out anyway!! Comedy, Singer/songwriters, Drama & Open Mic are premier features of the Battle of the Axe show (www.battleoftheaxe.com) every Tuesday Nite 9.30pm up stairs at the Ha’ Penny Bridge Inn, Temple Bar, Dublin 2. Adm; €6. The acts battle it out for the lucky duck award voted for by the audience. New acts are always welcome but must book in advance. email: openmic@battleoftheaxe.com Make sure you visit this very popular show now in its 7th year when in Dublin. Otherwise you haven’t been!!!!!!

Aye comedy club at the ha'penny bridge is usually pretty good, been in a fair few times over the past number of years, nice and small intimate venue, and you get to see a good range of new (and sometimes old) acts, usually a good laugh if you're looking for something slightly different to do during the week.

Comedians seem to be getting very good competition from Singer/Songwriters these days. Or will we see the funny people of this country regain the edge at this show. It can go either way at this stage.
