Afraid not ... isnt there a website out there where u can calculate the code needed to unlock the phone?

    http://www.nokia-unlock.com/

Costs about €15. I used them to unlock my 8310 because any of the lads I knew with unlocking kits didn't have suitable cables for the 8310. They send you the unlock code by email once your credit card is verified. Used em a few months ago, no suspicious credit card fraud by now ;)

You could get a data cable (they've unlocking cables as well but you don't need those) off www.1nok.com, once you get the data cable off them they'll give you access to their download area where you'll find software to unlock a phone using a data cable, and you'll also have a data cable to boot which you can use for transferring logos and ringtones and stuff.

There is, but the codes don't work for the 3310..
    They only work for:
    3510, 6501, 8310, 7650, 6310 and some others..
You can now calculate these codes for free..

afaik on DCT3 handsets unlocking the phone is a hell of a lot easier.

I've only started messing around with this in the last 120mins, using KNOCK and NokTool and a cable I got offa amte (parallel and serial).
I've managed to "Clear SP Locks", but haven;t ahd a chance to upgarde the firmware. both KNOCK (over parallel, phone off, battery connected) and NokTool (over serial, phone on, battery connected) failed to read the roms, KNOCK report "Couldn't Prepare Phone" and NokTool reporting "MCU Memory reading error at address 0x100000".
I don't know if I have an MBUS, FBUS or MBUS/FBUS cable.
    What is the differnece?
MBUS - M for "multi-directional", FBUS - F for "forward directional" or full duplex or what?

    Been reading this site: http://www.unlockme.co.uk

Have a Nokia 3310 for 2 years (Vodafone RTG), MCU software is V 04.45.21-06-01.NHM-5.(c) NMP.
Looking to flash it with v5.13 C

    try using this file

    http://www.cubwolf.btinternet.co.uk/software/rolis478.zip

make sure the pogo pins on the dongle are springing back okay, if not- just spin them around until they do

you need to run userport if your on winxp or win2k

you need to have the phone connected to the parallel port, switched off and battery connected

5.13 is very good never freezes but you should use the 5.57 flash

    http://www.cubwolf.btinternet.co.uk/upgrades/3310v557.zip

i think its the best, its got the 3315 features and only one bug annoying

    bug
slight chance that when you delete a single character in a huge text (over 150chars) it can delete the whole text (arrrggh)

    3315 features are

    self locking keypad
    picture editor
    timed profiles (useless)
any tone for a text message
delete all unread messages in a folder

firstly select 3310, make a full backup by pressing ctrl and r
save it to the hard drive
write new flash file about 5 mins

    then

    take out the sim card
    switch phone on
    connect up serial cable

    use Knock to
1 restore your IMEI number, (dont worry about the last character)

    2 convert 3310 to 3315

    3 then quick set faid

    4 Reset user interface settings

    sorted enjoy

MBUS_SecurityCommand : cannot execute 'Enable extended commands'
    CMD_handlecommands : cannot analyze phone
MBUS_SecurityCommand : cannot execute 'Enable extended commands'

Got that when trying to convert from 3310 to 3315, and when trying to rest user interface.
    Sim is not in phone.

The flashing seems to have gone well, the FAID has beet set, think the IMEI has been reset too.

The phone hangs when I go near the picture editor or look at the picture messages in "Messages".

sorry for the delay i work nights, :(

    userport here

    http://www.embeddedtronics.com/public/Electronics/minidaq/userport/UserPort.zip

extract the zip file to c:\port

go into folder and copy and paste userport.sys into

    c:\"windowsdir"\system32\drivers

go back to the c:\port folder and double click on userport.exe
click start and exit, this only has to be done once ever!

think the IMEI has been reset too.

    check imei press #*06#
original is written under the battery.

MBUS_SecurityCommand : cannot execute 'Enable extended commands'

......did you try the other serial port on your pc, or changing the com port setting in knok misc-(select COM port)?

now try update faid, and reset user interface settings again

do a factory reset in on the phone, ie menu-setting-factory-reset
it will ask for a security code, which is 12345

the flash you downloaded must be allready 3315 if you got a picture editor so you don't have to convert it

if it still hangs let me know and i'll email you a flash

If you've owned the phone for a given amount of time or used a certain amount of credit/bill then the brand stores will do it for you free. People rarely mention this for some reason. I got O2 to unlock a 3310 locked to their network before.

It's easier if you pay monthly, as a bill showing you've been had it for at least 6 months usually satisfies them. I think if you're on pre-pay you need to have registered with them and paid a certain amount of credit in that span. Just bug them if they seem hesitant or try a different store if the first refuses.
