    Relationships

Relationships suck, you know its true,
Full of Love and "Yes i do".
Up and down the love see-saw goes,
With 2 on its journey to God only knows.

Into a hole they now descend,
The hole of marraige it has no end.
If there is a light in this dark tunnell,
Can they find it before they tumble.

Cause love is like a crazy dream,
With no control over how it seems.
They close their eyes and drift away,
They dream of the love they'll find someday.

They settle down to raise a kid,
A house, a car, their dreams they live.
But in their bed lies their fate,
2 seperate people divided by hate.

    This playground dream,
    They've seen first hand.
    It vanishes sharply,
    As they hit the sand.

    The Love see-saw's snapped,
    Its broken, Its dead.
    Strangers they leave,
    To dream in their beds.

    Woah, zombie thread!

OP hasn't been active since last July, they probably won't even be reading this for feedback...

Your poem is sad, it is a reflection of decades of the attack on marriage (even though you say relationships), and the family. Many of these marriages fail because they married for the wrong reasons, because one 'feels' in love. But feelings come and go, they cannot be relied upon. Financial independence also, makes it much easier for anyone to leave their partner, if they get sick of them, and it is a tragedy, especially where children are involved.

Contraception has a role to play also, where there is a high risk of using the other as a sex object, since procreation is removed, the only purpose is pleasure - self gratification. The divorce rates sky rocketed when contraception became widespread, as a result.

To maintain a marriage with one person for an entire life is possible, but since it's supernatural (rises above our nature), the anchor which binds it, has to have its grounding outside the couple - God.

To have a good chance of surviving and reaching its potential, each spouse's love must be rooted in God first, this allows one to truly love others, as God does, unconditionally, as opposed to conditionally.

I share your pain in how marriage has lost the repsect it once had. It's not that there's anything wrong with marriage itself, it's that without love rooted in God, I agree it is a sham and is often doomed to failure, because it's missing the one vital ingredient, the designer of marriage, mentioned already.

Well written poem, with no holding back.
