    http://www.satinfo.co.uk

If anyone has read this and can recommend it ( or rubbish it) please let me know.

Any sites you know of would also be welcome
Most sites jump around various topics to much

    Thanks

An excellent book about satellite television, ranging from the composition of mpeg-2 streams to installing your dish, is "Digital Satellite TV" by Frank Baylin:

    Tony,

*greenman is right. Whats the title of the book, who is the publisher?..not fair saying "Try Jon Breeds book" and then just leave us poor ill informed novices hanging like this!.

John Breeds' book is better by far. Frank Baylin's Digital Satellite TV book is not in the same league when it comes to the nitty gritty of installation work. The Satellite TV Book was aimed at installers, primarily those working in Europe with ASTRA dishes. From what I remember, there were two versions, a more detailed A4 book (known in the satellite book trade as the 'white book') and a smaller book intended for teaching courses.

As for the 'Satellite TV Expert' book, I remember seeing a copy of it a few years ago but it was not exactly memorable or expert.

Actually I just spotted the Breeds' book on a shelf here. Both books were published in the early-mid 1990's . There are some good, current, technical books on satellite TV (Martin Pickering's Satcure site [1] has more details on these.)

(I may be a bit biased on this as I know both John Breeds and Frank Baylin.)
