Looks like my modem has fried itself so I need a new one.
On their website UTVIp recomend a v92 hardware modem with a Rockwell chipset - here.

I can't seem to find anything that meets this description.
Can anyone recommend a modem and where I should look to buy it?

    Ta.
    Dougal.

    http://www.marx-computers.com

enter the site, go to the Modems page, and look for the external 56k modem that they sell.....

The only problem with their external one is it's a V.90, not V.92, although they sell an internal hardware modem that is V.92.

I have their cheap'n'nasty €20 software modem (Winmodem)........ works fine for me because I've got a nice fast CPU, although I'd prefer to have an external one. (I'm not buying one just yet because I plan to either get broadband or upgrade to ISDN soon.... ;) )

Marx do deliver inside IReland, but if you want to save delivery costs you can drop down to their office and pick up the item (theyre located in Dublin).

I was googling and it appears that Rockwell Chipset ( that was confusing me most ) is actually now called the conexant chipset.
I think I have seen modems round about with that.

I have used marx-computers before so might see if I can collect when I am in Dub later this week.
