As I usually buy on the net, I forgot how much more expensive the high-street shops are here.

    For example;

    Conns Cameras
    5 rolls of Fuji REALA 100 35mm 36 = €48.80

    7dayshop.com
    5 rolls of Fuji REALA 100 35mm 36 = €15.00 inc delivery

Thats an amazing difference of €33

Prices for just about anything photo-related are obscene in this country.

However, I have always had a problem with Conn(man)'s Cameras, they seem to be about the most expensive I have come across.
Compare their film prices with Gunn's, and you will see what I mean.

Maybe they are trying to attract a better class of customer* or something!?

*Or maybe they are preying on those that don't know any better (with lots of spare cash)!

I was a ba$tard in the shop. There was a girl talking to them about a medium format mamiya in the showcase [the words lamb and slaughter spring to mind]

While one sales guy referred her to another who was tied up with another lamb, I slipped her a note with www.ffordes.com written on it and said it was the best place to buy used medium format.

Expect to see my mug on crimeline next week!

    Yes.
    You could also try www.mx2.com

Like samson says mx2 or 7dayshop are usually the cheapest. Some films are cheaper on one site than the other, so check both.

Cool, also on those sites they have shielded bags, lead i think, for bringing films through airports, anyone have one? Can they be brought in hand lugage? do they work or do the x-rays just give them a higher dose to penetrate them?

I have a couple. I always bring my film in hand luggage, as the lead bags are only really useful against the lower power hand luggage x-ray machines.

Although, I have been in circumstances whereI didn't have a lead bag and my film was unaffected. I think the fogging problems associated with x-rays are more an issue with high speed film (more sensitive). I mainly use Velvia and Provia which is low/medium speed.

ok thanks i'll probably get one so.
The hand luggage x-ray can still see through the bag i presume but it just cuts out the harmful ones?
