Serious Virus Problem!

I'm using ME, and seem to have gotten a nasty little virus.

It must embed itself into certain .exe files, as any major ones (including install files) refuse to run and give similar errors to"possible viral infection".

Now this is annoying, as I am currently without Antivirus software, and this prohibits me from using the install files to any Antivirus files I have.

I found out how to get around it though, download them onto another computer, and place them on a cd, and run them, which installs the perfectly, but when it comes time to run the AV software, it has been infected, and the exe ceases to run.

I have also tried to install the AV software on another computer and THEN place it on a disk, and try running it from that, but to no avail, reg problems and serial code problems.

Seeming that it only affects files ON the HDD, I presume the worm has embedded itself into my .exe's

One interesting point to note though. It seems that some of the minor programs I run go unaffected, but major ones like AVG, Norton, Nero, Powerstrip and Outlook, are affected.

    Anyone have any clue.
