1-1 at the moment. Wayne Rooney scored for England

burning of the English flag, racist chants. i think UEFA will be busy after this game

edit: David Beckham just made it 2-1 from a penalty

    G'wan Heskey! :D

Lampard was a waste of space, Emile made a big difference
as the ball stopped returning straight back at England.

Dodgy penalty I'd say....Terry was in the area but not attacking goal and in fact I thought he'd lost the ball by the time he was clipped.

Owen on the left? Whats that about....

As for the usual racist ****e from Eastern Europeans lets hope this time UEFA spend less time ticking off the English FA and address the real issues...

    Mike.

The game turned with the introduction of Heskey. Rooney and Beckham will grab all the headlines, but up until Ivanhoe came on England were going nowhere.

Becks & co. going over and applauding the hundred or so idiots who travelled!!!??

    The FA won't be pleased!!

But I think they had to do it, fair play to him - he knows he's going to get a roasting from upstairs FA guys!

in fairness a decade or so ago english fans were just as rascist, im not condoning it but how can u expect the eastern european countries with little to absolutly no cultural diversity to be as accomadating as england are now? there's bigotry anywhere there isnt enough education

There was something very dodgy about that Rooney goal, in my opinion, the goalie made no attempt to save it, he dived the right way and all, and the ball was only about 12" in front of his face but he didn't move his hands out to try and save it.

In my opinion he let it in, maybe he had a bet on England or something.

That then left me in a cynical mood about the penalty, make no mistake, it was the perfect penalty by Beckham, but I'm just left with nagging doubts.

Agreed I could'nt belive he did'nt make contact with it.

He saveed well from Owen earlier in the match - maybe he had money on Rooney to score? Or got a warning from some heavies at half time that they had money on an england win?

    Definitely something fishy...

Did you see Gary Neville sticking his hand up when playing the whole western hemisphere on-side? Ha ha ha... there's another thread going in soccer where some moron is claiming Gary Neville is better than Hyppia... hilarious...

I think its a rule no matter how far the player is onside and you are out of position stick up the hand just incase the linemans wasnt looking.

I did and I saw Sol Campbell do exactly the same with 5 English players behind him. Didnt you see that?

every team does the hand up for offside thing. sometimes you get away with it, other times you dont.

i don't know what Sol Cambell was thinking about for the Mascedonia goal. talk about messing it up

I can't believe England got another penalty, they seem to get one every time they play which is never particularly well I might add. They were lucky against a team ranked in the 70's of the world rankings and England are 8th, I just don't get how they can play so badly.

It wasn't Gary Neville's hand in the air that was the point Ubah - it was your assertion that he's a great player and better than Hyppia and yet he makes such a bad mistake against such poor opposition...

But what the hell - let's not start a flame war... these things can get out of hand, as the liverpool thread surely illustrates...

Im english and I take pride in knowing we have some of the best players in the world today. Why can't any manager bring it together? Its infuriating

i don't understand that myself. they have a really good load of players to choose from
