Fitting a new bath

Anybody any hints or tips for fitting a new bathtub?

I bought a new one last month and am getting silly quotes to have it fitted, €350 being the average. So thought, why not have a go yourself.
I'm not changing the taps so I only have to figure how to get them off and back on again without having any bits left over:p . From looking at the job I reckon the hardest bit will be moving the tub into place, I assume the plumbers who originally did the bathroom would have done it first and then the loo and sink.

    heya..
here's some step by step instructions..

    fitting a bath

But, unless you're fairly handy, and a perfectionist I'd get a pro in, do it wrong and you'll be in a whole world of pain ... - doing up an old house I have discovered that nothing is as simple as it seems! Everything takes twice as long as expected and there's always a 'little' hitch!

    good luck !

Thanks Milkman, the step by step is quite good, I cannot say I'm great at diy but I'm keen to try it out otherwise I'll never improve. I reckon if it all goes pear shaped I'll just bring in a pro to sort it out.
