Who's your favourite inventor: BS Johnson or Leonard De Quirm?

Personally I'd be a BS Johnson man, because whenever his name is mentioned I know i'm in for a five minute laugh-a-thon. And that my side's will be hurting by the end of the paragraph. Personally i'd love to have him invent a computer for me. I'd love to see what he'd do with it.

By the way if you can think of any inventor's i've left out, just say so, and i'll add 'em in.

tough choice, some of leonards inventions are good, especially the ones you can modify at will, but B.S johnson wins for the laughs.

BSJ. He's just so versatile. He can set out to do anything and never get it to do the thing it was meant to do (except in the unfortunate cases of the organs). Yet they always do SOMETHING either useful or entertaining. While Leonard may be a BETTER inventor, he's not got the loveable screwing-up qualities of Johnson. Or at least I think so.

By the way, you forgot to put in Goldeneyes Dactylos, any inventor who can fell the quality of the arrow that kills him should be included.

Leonard is good for a laugh too.
Because it's submersible in a marine environment, I call it the going-under-the-water-safely-machine
    :D

BS Johnson is good for sheer stupidity. Remember the 120 foot beehive? Not much use when there are no giant bees...:)

BSJ for the maze that was so small people got lost looking for it!

BSJ all the way. As for Goldeneyes Dactylos - I'd hate to be that good at anything. Poor guy.

Anyway BSJ got my vote but only just.

De Quirm. The Gonne, Devices capable of leveling entire cities "But no would ever use". All that sort of thing.

BSJ would build a siege engine inside a city, a battering ram on the inside of the door etc...

What use are those to a man in my possition.

Leonard all the way, BSJ is funny, but thats it, leonard is a character in ihis own right, until BSJ actually makes an appearance he's just a footnote.

is BSJ alive to make an appearance? Or does that matter?

the books jump back and forth through time, i'm, sure the sweeper has run into him at some point.

Maybe there could be a book where Lu Tze has to stop BSJ from destroying the disc with a machine which was ment to be a fully functional ornamental sundial/weathercock/calender.

I liked Johnson's hoho, I think it was.... well, I'm not sure, one of his creations was an ornamental fish pond 150 foot long and one inch wide, containing one trout, which is happy as long as it never tries to turn around :)

(interesting link referencing this in a maths problem!)

(btw, voted for Leonard - Johnson had some of my favourite inventions but Leonard was a more interesting inventor, characterwise since we never actually encounter Johnson himself (though I'd like to see it happen!))

    Leonard De Quirm.

BS Johnson might have been more ridiculous but Leo's naivity was pretty funny at times too.
