I recently managed to get Casablanca working on my Technotrend pci sat card but notice sites downloading that I have not ticked in the votes page.

Anyone know where I may be going wrong? Or this a normal event?

I am using the latest software from the Technotrend site in dvb data mode. Have a good signal;) green icon and have tried emptying the cache but same thing happened again.

    This is normal.

It is a bit odd, but can't be beaten with a Big Stick for Free. Setup a news/mail reader for it as the downloaded newsgroups are a good selection and would take a lot of online time to browse.

(Responding to post is tricky but I can explain it).

Been using it over a year.

Untick Italy and Germany in your Webcaster options.

Is it Basic (no TV out, no DSP) or Premium card you have?

I'm using Hauppauge Win DVDs PCI, an older version of Nexus-S with the Technotrend 2.15a SW It feed my TV sets etc via a VHS as RF modulator from its built in TV out. I extended the IR eye with a Cat 5 cable using the wires not normally used for the power, screen and signal from "shack" to living room.

Since version 2 I can't send votes anymore, suspect it not using the proxy settings (my PC connects to Internet via firewall in the attic), but it still working.

Vote often and it will sortof give the things you vote priority, but still do other stuff incase you like it. Make Cache at least 1700MByte but less than 2GByte.

Philoshiphically it is a better concept than EOL etc as Satellite is best suited to multicast broadcast. With traditional Internet by satellite it gets worse the more popular it is or goes bust as the economics are wrong. Casablanca is like "teletext" with email, newsgroups and webpages replacing the text. You can browse whatever is sent and the more people the better a service they can do.

Thanks Watty, now I know its a normal event my sanity has returned. I agree that it is a very good way to get some websites downloaded easily, I especially liked the 360 degree views on the Louvre website. I'd never see these using dial up modem.

I have managed to vote a few times....still waiting to see if any of them appear.

One thing I haven't set up is using the remote control. I got a cable that fits onto the serial out connector and there are some apps on the cd I got with it such as Miriam and Girder and the remote is a 10 in 1 type that you can code, but I've yet to figure out how to set it up.

Otherwise then Casablanca seems to be working OK for me, I'll up the cache to 1700 (was using 1500).
    Thanks again for your help.

No mine the remote eye plugs into a socket on the card. It was preprogrammed and came with the IDENTICAL remote to the Hauppauge Analog Win TV card (also in PC).

The latest version SW now has setup to "learn" codes and assign them to almost any feature, so I reprogrammed it to use an old Philips VCR remote.

The Eject button opens OSD program list or OSD file list for playback and Stop and Play do Cancel or Select of List item or Stop and Play.

    Record button is erm... record.

I don't know if yours is the basic, but it doesn't sound the same as mine so I can't comment on exactly what any of that SW does.
