My New Best Friend

Just saw this show for the first time tonight on E4. It's absolutely hilarious, I have never seen anything like it before! Anyone else seen it? Well worth a look!
    :D

This is what it's all about:

Channel 4 is planning a hidden camera reality show in which contestants must play along with the humiliation heaped on them by a fake friend to win a £10,000 prize.
My New Best Friend employs the talents of comedy actor Mark Wotton. He takes on a different - but equally nightmarish - character in each episode to torment a member of the public who has agreed to take part in the show.

Only Wotton and the contestant are in on the secret and hidden cameras follow the pair as they spend a weekend together and the fake pal is introduced to family and friends.

The contestant must go along with whatever embarrassing situation Wootton puts them in to win the £10,000 prize.

Scenarios include forcing the contestant do a runner from a restaurant where he is having a meal with a real friend and Wootton running up and kissing him during a weekly game of five-a-side football with the lads

In the pilot for My New Best Friend, Wotton announced during a family meal that the contestant had a secret love child.

"Contestants are told only that someone is going to knock on their door and they have to go along with whatever happens. The best friends will be quite extreme characters," a Channel 4 spokeswoman said.

As well as recording what the contestant and their fake friend get up to, the hidden cameras will also film what friends and family are saying about Wotton behind his back.

Sounds interesting - might give it a looksee. Digiguide lists tomorrow's as featuring an obsessive stalker (which should be good for a laugh)

Yer man, who was trying to win the prize of 10 k had 2 friends over and had to pass off the posh git as his new best friend to win the money.

The posh git was being totally obnoxious (sp) at the dinner party ...

He smashed a car window and got his "friend to dress up in womens clothes on the street to the horror of the visitors etc etc

    Well worth a look.
