Not bad, but I do like RTÉ One's new look.

A touch of the " SKY | ONE " about it?

Have to agree, the new look RTE ONE is fab. The new RTE News music sounds rather overdramatic though. And the News 2 brand has been dropped, it now once again has the same look as RTE ONE's news.

Damien - that wind farm ident looks suspicously like one of UTV's old idents! (Must be revenge for UTV borrowing the beach idea from the previous set of RTE ONE idents). Now UTV really need a new look - the rest of ITV1 got a new look today while UTV are still giving us that stupid blue thing...

The one TV3 ident I saw was set in a hairdressers.

Apparently not - the current ident set are just over a year old. And are a pale shadow of the fantastic look the channel had from 1997-2002.

What I would love is a matching set of N2 idents (since the news has been brought back to the RTE corporate branding, maybe the logo could be too?). RTE ONE has places (from old to new), so RTE N2 could have youth (from yesterday to today) being portrayed.

Anyway, I reckon with the changes yesterday RTE have probably spent a large part of their promotions budget for the year. And TG4 with its four-year-old graphics set is probably more in need of an update.

One further thing about N2 - they were using Transmitter Information slides yesterday featuring a large RTE corporate logo above the N2 and an orange and black design. This matches nothing in the RTE on-air portforlio! Could have been just knocked up for the occasion. The equivilant RTE ONE slide was in the new RTE ONE identity with Engineering Information written beside the "ONE".

Transmitter Information slides? They appeared on both RTE ONE and Network 2 on Monday evening. Something about transmitters in the North West being off air for maintanence...

I looked at p530 on Aertel, and it did say that Truskmore and Mullaghanish are being worked on.... But its been a while since RTÉ did a transmitter info annoucement!

I like the N2 ident but they need to do something interesting with the graphics, just go back to when the brought in the N2 ident they were good graphics. The new ones are to plain.

I don't like the intro after an add break on TV3, if you can call it an into. you know the new wave that appears in purple at the top right hand cornor of the screen, a tiny bit better the the green bar that would shoot out everytime the came back from an add break.

I think TV3 and RTE One Background graphics are very similar.

Also the sky|one ident copy, didn't the RTE|Sport come out before that?

The TV3 add for their movies is a copy of the Sky Movies adds. very similar. but nice all the same.

They've added some extra idents this weekend to the original set of four (or so) that debuted on RTE ONE on 1st September. Haven't really got a chance to see them though. Incidently, I've never seen that wind farm ident above actually on air, yet.

Also there's a special "RTE | LATE LATE MOVIE" ident that I've seen.

Looks like one of the intentions of the rebrand was to make the "RTE" logo more prominent that the the "ONE" - for the first time since the 1987 RTE corporate look.

Now if only RTE would put their logo on some new N2 idents...

I've noticed them new ones alright this weekend. (very nice)

BTW on that windmill one it starts off with old style windmills & then shows the progression into using new fashioned wind farms.

I havn't seen that yet but i did see the new ident for the big big movie on saturday evenings
