Busy Day for Everton

Everton have signed Kevin Kilbane, Nigel Martyn and Francis Jeffers (one year loan).

Busy day for David Moyes after losing out so many transfers over the summer.

Will it be a good move for Kilbane? With Pembridge goping to Fulham he could well get his starting place?

Add James McFadden(Motherwell) to that list...
It's a shame we couldn't land a few from Mcmanaman, Savage, Ferguson and Davis...

Anyone know if Everton have an option to purchase Jeffers at the end of the loan?

Yep Mossy is a Gooner. And with me and all the other Gooner fans here we are now having a party to celebrate that cheating little scumbag leaving us :)

I'm an Evertonian and even though it upset me when Jeffers left Goodison I'll gladly take him back with open arms.
He did become too big for his boots towards the end of his spell at Everton but I'm convinced it was playing for Arsenal that gave him his reputation of a "cheating little scumbag". There's a discipline issue at Highbury, Wenger seems to sit on the fence anytime his players are involved in on/off the ball incidents. I don't know what he tells them in the dressing room or training ground but there seems to be no fear of the repercussions of there actions and it's rubbed off on Jeffers. I don't think Moyes would put up with that kind of attitude and I reckon he(Jeffers) will stop his diving antics quickly.

It's a pity your manager didn't call him that last season after he was caught taking a blatant dive for a penalty. Instead he praised him as his "fox in the box". I suppose that he didn't see the dive anyway :D

arsenal actually wanted a guarantee as part of the deal that everton would sign him for a couple of million at the end of the season, it wasn't given but is likely to happen.

spoilt for choice for strikers now -
rooney, jeffers, radz, campbell, ferguson, mcfadden(duno much about)

but it's midfielders we're needing - macca and savage would have been nice being everton fans.

Apparently McFadden can play as an attacking midfielder as well as a striker...

It looks like Pires is also a cheating little scumbag after yesterdays performance, they must be taking diving lessons at highbury. I presume you agree.:D

I presume he does not have to ...

Pires was certainly out of order for that penalty but what about Philips, how in the name of all that is holy was that penalty given ???

I didnt see the phillips incident yet so i can not comment but if its the same as pires the my opinion will be the same. It is blatent cheating ans should not go unpunished i hope the Fa will act to stamp this out of the game before it ruins it.

BTW the reason i presumed that Gandalf would have the same opinion of pires and jeffers is because of the similaraties in the two incidents .Of couse he doesnt have to agreee with me but
I would be interested in hearing his opinion when he sees the incident.

Actually didn't see any of the games cause I was out at the soon to be brother in laws stag night (ouch my feels like it was a football at all yesterdays games!)

The only thing I can say is I believe the lads were watching videos of Ruuds "falling" technique :p

I agree Ruud sometimes goes down under light contact but he does not cheat by pretending to be fouled like jeffers and now pires. There is a big difference as you will see this weeek when pires is charged by FA for bringing the game into Disrepute.
The rest of us may prepare for the cries of FA bias against the gunners . The ref yesterday was more than generous to them.

Thas quite a common illness called ArsenWenger Syndrome its quite common amongst Arsenal Supporters and not anything wort worring about. It's normally cured by May.:D

There seemed to be about the same amount of contact in the Pires penalty as in any classic Van Nistelrooy :p

The only contact in the pires incident was deliberate contact by pires on the defender He should have been booked and a free out given. RVn has nothing to do with an Arsenal Player blatently cheating and so far getting away with it.
If the gunner supporters are of the opinion its ok to cheat to get a win thast their choice but I would be sick if my team had to revert to such tactics. I hope they,ll save us the whinging complaints about Arsenal being victimised by the FA if Pires is charged as he should be this week.
