Need info on mobile phone

Right, I'll keep this short. while away in France for the last 10 days, some **** knicked my mobile phone, an 086 bill paying one. I got my bro to ring up esat and tell them the story and to cancel my number in case they started ringing Sputnik on it or something which ESAT did without any problems. As far as I can remember I didn't take out any type of insurance with the phone when I bought it.

My question is. Do I have to fork out a stupid sum of money to get a new phone with ESAT Digifone cos I already have/had a contract with them but taking into consideration that my phone was nicked and I just want to get another one ??

Any have any experience with this sort of thing ?

if its one of those minimum time contracts then you will still have to pay rental on the service.

(eg minimum contract time 1 year) otherwise no you wont have to.

No way! You'll still need to pay Esat as Jag said, but you can get whatever phone you like now.

Paul, firstly, always always get the insurance. Ben has lost around 10 phones ffs.

If you've been with Esat for over a year, you should be entitled to an upgrade ie. a cheap phone.

otherwise you could look into switching to Eircell and gettting a new phone at first time connection rates.

If nothing works, talk to Cormac - Ben's friend (get the number from Ben) - he works for Esat and can sort you out.

Yea, didn't think I'd get a phone stolen from a luxury villa but what can ya do. I can't migrate to 087 cos I already had a contract with them and I can't upgrade with ESAT cos I've only been with them a few months. I'll talk to Ben and see what he says.

You can go back to eircell as a first time connection with no problem and avail of the offers available, same with esat. I haev two phones with esat on bill paying and availed og first time connection offers with both of them.

Ha! I was here wondering what an ESAT Digifone was. Completely forgot about its existence.
