You will need BasiliskII, a mac rom(which you must own of course:)) and a copy of system 7.5.3(which is freely available from apples website).

BasiliskII comes in two flavours non jit and jit. the jit one is an unofficial version and can cause you emulated mac to go a bit mental when the pc your running it on is above 2ghz but for slower machines it gives a _massive_ speed boost.

www.emaculation.com should have links to just about everything needed except the roms.

But still a very interesting approach!
....the best way to get PPC support on regular commodity PCs is by not emulating the CPU at all. Instead, one could use a real PPC processor on an add-in card, maybe even with its own system RAM to increase speed. Then, emulate the rest of the hardware on a given PPC Mac using some "glue" software. These cards have been available for a long time in PCI form factors, though not yet used for PPC/Mac "emulation"; most are sold as "processor upgrades" for older Macs...

As the article also says having a box that runs Windows, Linux and MacOS9 -X would be something else:)

the add on card method of emulation is nothing new. back in the days of the atari st there were copmpanies that made 286 based expansion cards that allowed dos and many real mode dos programs to be run on the st.

true software ppc emulation at any kind of useable speed is still a long way off. the new athlon64s may give a small ray of hope but apple are notorius at protecting their IP(worse than nintendo) so any large scale popular ppc mac emulation will have the lawyers set on it faster than a really fast thing that goes fast.

dont forget to play escape velocity and ev override and if you can dig them up the mac scumm games(monkey island etc.).

i had a nice disc with a fully kitted out os 8.1 installation, rakes of apps and games all tucked away on a nice 500mb hdf file. then i got a puppy who ate the cd. it took me almost 2 years of searching and downloading and it killed it because it was bored :(
