Does anyone have any views on 'punting'?

The other night my gay friends and I were talking about experimenting in the bedroom (no, not with each other). They told me I should try 'punting'. Im a bit nervous, my last experience didnt go too well. Does anyone have any advice?

Well if you have ever seen "When a man loves a man" you would know exactly what 'punting' is. You see 'punting', ie the act, was not exactly explained in detail to me in detail. I have to say i was left both excited and nervous. The visual was pleasing however the thoungt of doing it is not entirely turning me on! So whats up? I need more details, all you knowing men of Ireland- help me!

Er, the act of propelling a flat-bottomed boat along the River Cam with a long pole? I know what you mean mate - my last experience of that went horribly badly as well, and resulted in the punt sinking (much to the amusement and indeed amazement of the staff at the rental place) and my mobile phone getting soaked.

Or, er, alternatively yes, it means getting taken from behind by a woman with a strap-on. Possibly on the River Cam, although I'd imagine that's optional. And I don't think you've come to the right place for advice on that....

This thread is tettering dangerously close to getting locked. Ecksor, I'm not sure what you mean. If a user is double posting can you let me know via pm please (or in irc).

In any case, you should really follow your own instincts on this one. If you feel you're up for some 'punting' or whatever, then go for it. However, you should only do so if you trust the other part(ies) involved not to take it too far or go beyond any boundaries that you are willing to enforce. If you're still nervous about it, you might want to try something tamer before going ahead full steam. That's not being prudish, it's simply exercising judgement.

Shame. You should give it a go - it's a very relaxing way to pass a nice summers day. You don't even have to wear the silly headgear if you don't want to, although I do recommend doing it with an expert punter the first time, since there's a certain knack to handling the pole in order to make sure it doesn't get stuck in the muck.
