when i get a router do i still have to keep modem?

    can't and router work as a modem too? keeping 2 devices and interconnecting them is a headache on my small table

    Most of them have a built in modem. If not, it'll need an external ethernet modem. Check the manufacturer's website before you buy it

    The DLink 604 has a built in modem so you don't need your other modem any more. A USB modem (which I presume is what you have) wouldn't have plugged into a router anyway.

    Not correct you can get routers for usb modems but hard to come by.
