Shels at it again

Following Shels elimination from the Uefa cup in a effort to recoup some of their losses they are deciding today whether to complain and bring court action against the FAI over their game with Sligo in the FAI Cup.

In the match the referee booked a player twice but never sent him off a mistake which Shels have been silent about until elimination from UEfa cup was inevitable.

Can these guys not just win games on the pitch?
Does every league and cup win have to be won in the courts?

They are a disgrace to football not just here but worldwide how they can get away with it time and time again is beyond me.

Having seen what they can do 1st hand i feel sorry for Sligo Rovers players and fans who beat them in Tolka 3-2 and soon if Shels follow tru that win will be overturned and the game either replayed or Sligo eliminated by default.

Both the Shels and Derry UEFA cup results last night were really disappointing. I thought Shels had a decent chance of getting to the next round, but as they did last year against a poor Hiberians side, they couldnt produce on the night.

As for their match against Sligo .... rules are rules, and they were broken imo. Sligo should have been down to 10 players. If the FAI rule that the match needs to be replayed, then that is what should happen imo.

Now, I read that as they haven't yet decided to go down that road, but are deciding whether to do it or not. If thats the case, why don't you wait for a concrete decision before getting on your high horse?

2 people should be held accountable here.

    1) The ref. He was told by the linesman that he had already booked the player but didn't do anything about it. That ref was poor all night and should be denied any further games for the rest of the season.

    2) The player who was booked. People are going on about Shel's lack of sportsman ship in appealing but the player knew he was booked twice and stayed on the pitch! Now, that's not exactly sporting is it? He should get at *least* a 3 match suspension.

I was at the game and thought Sligo deserved to go through, I really hope Shels don't appeal this.

Kdjac you are talking absolute $hite ... Shels did not want to pursue anything with the sligo game until they got their European game under their belt and out of the way ...

They have that right as a professional football team to concentrate on their important European game and not be side tracked by the sligo game and the outcome of the mistake the referee made in the game ... If they had of straight away , went and tryed to get the game anulled and sought a replay .. the media and external pressures on the players could have had a negative affect on the team morale / players .... In hindsight this did not matter as they were beaten 3- 2 last night (4 - 2 on aggregate) .....

    In answer to your questions
Can these guys not just win games on the pitch?

    Yes they can ....
Does every league and cup win have to be won in the courts?
    No

    Cheers

That is a sickener ... if Shels had of played well last night they could have beaten the slovenians (or vakians) ... They did not look too impressive ... but they get a massive draw against liverpool ... See no problems for the Pool their ...
