MTV VMA's not on MTV UK / Ireland ??

Does anyone know why the Video Music Awards are not being shown live on MTV UK and Ireland?

They are on tonight at 1am, and instead of showing it live as usual, MTV UK are showing it at 8pm on Saturday. No doubt this will be censored to bits.

It is live on MTV France and MTV Central and probably every other regional MTV, so why not here?

A one sentence reason is that MTV are complete nob jockeys.

A more printable reason is probably so they can edit out anything remotely interesting. They probably dont want to risk showing Chris Rock of all people live and uncut.
Even though it is 2am but thats MTV for you.......

Well apparently it opened with a three way act of Britney, Madonna and Christina and madonna snogged both of them on stage....

how can you call that a new low? man, you crazy or something.

even though the lack of normal televisual live broadcast sucked a lot, i found sollace in the webcast on the mtv's homepage. the thing is, watching mtv awards uncensored is always fun, especially when chris rock is hosting it.

anyway, the webcast should have been called, the olsen twins and the hilton sisiters webcast. loads of ass shots of dancers, and some clips of the teleprompter which made them look like amateurs. oddly enough, metallica's performance wasnt allowed to be shown on the webcast and it was muted. pretty cheap.

It was live on MTV central last nite however brin dat i live in the ****tycenter in ireland i didnt see it either but somebody was on irc last nite and was watchin it.

I downloaded the clip of them kissing and it was crap barely even kissed.
And it would of been after the 9pm watershed as well so what's the problem.

i watched most of it MTV Central and it was a load of ****e unless you are into Rap and Rnb. Metallica played the oh so fantastic Frantic

their little medley of songs at the beginning had me confused though

The awards are never live its always recorded so they can edit it.

Even the award cermony isnt live when they go in it doesnt flow,people just dont just get there award ant then the next presenters come on its all set up.the cameras are turned off then the people are called to the back and then the cameras are turned on when there ready to walk out with moon man in hand
