You may and you may not, depends how nice Eircom/Esat are at the time

I've heard a few people go alittle bit over and not get charged so you "MIGHT" be ok.
But then again they may charge you a arm and a leg...

Well considering it is €30.72 a gigabyte (3c a megabyte), I would be very surprised if they didn't charge you if you went over the limit by anything over a couple of kilobytes!

At this rate, if I was you, I would seriously consider getting Esat BT's uncapped product if you are going to make a habit of this.

    But hey, it's your money!

I'd have to agree, have there 512K line for the past 3 weeks or so and must have pulled a total of 150GB+ off of it between me and my friends.

Well worth not having to worry anymore

Luckily my BB ISP is NTL's 600K cable package that has no cap and costs less per month (and much less to install too) than Eircom or Esat.

If Esat try charging you for going marginally over the cap, mention you must consider a change to NTL-assuming you live in an NTL cabled are that is!

I really hope that NTL force Eircom ESAT UTV etc to drop their prices over the coming years!

I doubt they will charge you. Eircom never charged me for going over there 3 GB limit. Some months I went over by several GBs up to 10-15 GB a month.

they won;t charge you if you go a few mb's over. But if you make a regualr habit of abusing the cap e.g. going 10-15gigs over, of course they'll charge you.

nah ill never go over it by that much.. not unless by some very stupid mistake... anyways.. its a 5.04 gbs now and its t-3 days till reset :/ i think it really whould be ok :/

With a few calulations that come to 86.68 Kb/s every second, every hour, every day for 3 weeks, pretty good for a 512 Kbit line i must say, or are we just sliniging out a big round number here?

A Normal 512 Kbit line would be lucky to get 50 kb/s average which with the abov example give you an absolute max of 86,51 Gb in 3 weeks.
Sorry, just feld like doing some simple math :D
Luckily i wont have to worry about any of this as in 1 week i hopefully on Netsource :D
