I was always under the impression that France had a lower cost-of-living than Ireland.

According to this table (updated in 2002) Ireland has a lower cost of living than France.

Does this seem right? Do you think Ireland has a lower cost of living than France?

You should note their assumptions - it excludes housing, furnishings and car purchases. The weightings within their basket aren't listed either. One wonders is the American demand for tipping included.
