I was there myself about a month ago....hmmm lets see...good coffeeshops are hill street blues (theres a couple of them) & the green house effect...places to eat..the grass hopper has a very nice steak house upstaires which is a bit pricey but worth a look...there loads of resaurants near enough to the RLD... bars are all over the place one that sticks out was teasers which is like hooters but the beer is a bit pricey...lots & lots of bars in the BABA area (very close to the RLD)...& finally clubs there are one or two superclubs which are all right ask any doorman & tell you the best places to go...pubs close about 12 during the week & about 1.30 at the weekend ....the main thing to do is just chill out & go with the flow so to speak :) enjoy!!!!

Melkweg for Friday/Saturday night clubbing. It's near the centre, of Leidseplein if I remember correctly.
    Which is unlikely. ;)

For a couple of touristy things, the Van Gogh museum. a trip on a barge around the canals(departs just opposite the Centraal), and stop off at Anne Frank's House.

This is a really good site for Amsterdam info:

    Amsterdam Hotspots

Some of my personal favouite places are Abraxas Coffeeshop just off Dam Square opposite The Supper Club - which is an amazing place for an evening of food, lounging around on beds, caberet, massages and smoking. Both are mentioned in the above site. Another good place, which never gets a mention in any guides is a bar called Fat City. It's on one of the RLD canals - it has delicous cold frothy heineken, good music, pool tables and you can smoke there, it's also never packed with tourists. Oh, to be there now...

    Enjoy, I'm jealous.

    Boog.

Dude from the Hash and Hemp Museum recommended the Bluebird Café and damn but it was a good recommendation.

Judging by the queues at the"smoking" counter by natives this place is one of the best places to get gear.

Very popular spot with really cool staff.

While over you have to go to a sex show and peep show, just for the experience. Its really interesting in a totally scientific way of course.
