I can't for the life of me find ANY listings ANYWHERE. The UCI and Stercentury websites seem to deny knowledge of this film, but they are listed in the English cinemas??!

Thats interesting.... I had a look around Irish movie sites, and the only mention is on www.wow.ie where it has yesterday (Friday) as a release date.

I hope it doesn't go straight to DVD. As corny as the movie sounds, I'd really like to see it on the big screen.

Oh dear, looks like the cinema distribution company that handles this film is delaying or cancelling its cinema release in Ireland. I asked staff members at the Gate cinema in Cork today and the had no news about the film and they did not have it on their release date list. The manager basically said that it is up to the distributors (not the cinemas) what happens...

I suspect these idiots think they would dilute the horror audiences too much (and make less profit) if they release Freddy v. Jason while films such as Jeepers Creepers 2 are still showing. :(

Anyone heard anything more about this? I've been really looking forward to seeing the film, but it looks like I might have to wait for the DVD release.

Irish Times cites October as a release date.

UCI were supposed to release it a week ago but didn't for some reason.

Presumably they figure a movie like that will make more money at Halloween over here.

Freddy V Jason is good if you like that kinda thing. I was fed up waiting for it, i knew a friend who got it on SVCD for me, obviously not very legal but at least i wasnt left waiting.

Indeed. Freddy vs Jason is a lot of fun for fans of the two series. I certainly enjoyed it. When it gets released here, I'd recommend it!
