UTV bandwidth usage recording - accurate?

Just wondering if anyone is having a similar experience - I have just logged into my UTV account to check my statements etc. and took the opportunity to check my bandwidth usage at the same time. Much to my surprise, the usage they have recorded is much much lower than the usage I myself have recorded with DUMeter. Is anyone else seeing the same thing? Is their recording accurate, and can I go crazy with all this unexpected remaining bandwidth?

I remember reading something about the way UTV's network operates - when you request something, they first check if they can get it locally (i.e. if it's been cached from someone else's usage). If they can, they send it to you without hitting the "outside" internet, and if not, they have to go and download it externally. Could it be that they only record those downloads from "outside" their own network?

Didn't even know it was there..but it does seem less than what dumeter says.

In dumeter options set it to use only dial up connections because otherwise it takes your network interface and pppoe link as 2 serparate devices giving false readings, ie. twice the correct figure

I also have UTV, and i didn't know that the login thing existed on there page lol. I just checked myself and says this
    Incoming: 841.5MB
    Outgoing: 226.8MB
So i used up 841mb of my 5gb cap?
    Or not?
Also do u know the DNS ips for me they dont put them on there website for some reason
    Thank you

Ahh, that could explain it. When I first started out with BB, I was pretty surprised at how quickly I appeared to be racking up bandwidth usage (according to DUMeter). I got used to it eventually. This is a nice surprise! Thanks :)

A lot of dumeters will include ethernet traffic as a default setting, is your computer networked?

No it's not networked to anything else. Under DUMeter's options I now have it set to "Dial up connections only" but it also has an option "ZyXEL USB ADSL Modem - Packet Scheduler Minip[2]" which would correspond to my UTV connection. It wouldn't be more appropriate?

Subc - yes, you've used 841.5MB of your 5Gb cap. I'm not sure about the DNS IPs..

According to my router, the DNS IP's are:

    195.218.116.2
    194.46.8.57

Has there been any official word on the new bandwidth totals? Mine says that I've used only about 60% of what I had recorded with DUMeter, and yes I had been monitoring just the one interface.

    But I'm not complaining.

How often will the counter update? It's not increasing for me now even though I'm downloading files.
