NHL on NASN

    Heya

I realize I'm probably going to be in a minority here, but surely some people over here must want to watch NHL games ? :) Anyway, I see that NASN is supposed to broadcast a decent set of games, and presumably the Cup playoffs - has anyone ordered the station and watched the broadcasts? Who do they use for announcers, or are they just rebroadcasting some American channel? Also, what's the normal lapse between the real game and the brodcast - do they just show them the next day around 7pm?

Last, but not least, I don't suppose there's any chance that they use the one _true_ theme music for the games (i.e. Hockey Night in Canada)? :)

I dont watch NHL, but NASN show a lot of games live, and they use the local commentators, not their own. They do show recorded games when its night and morning in the US, but after 7pm on weekdays, and after 3pm on weekends, its almost all live, until 6am here.

And they do show HNIC :)

Ah yes, Hockey night in Canada - well worth watching if only for "Coach's Corner" with Ron McLean and Don Cherry. Always good for a laugh.

A word of warning though - the CBC, and by extension Hockey Night in Canada, do believe the world revolves around the Maple Leafs... which kind of sucks for everybody not from Toronto :)

yeah, they rebroadcast the cbc coverage of the stanley cup playoffs earlier this year, don cherry and all - ntl had it on freeview briefly after they added it to their digital offering, so i got to see games 6 and 7!

however none of the games were live - i think they were around 18 hours delayed, so it sucked trying not to hear who had won for an entire day. i think channel5 has the rights in the uk, they seemed to show the earlier playoffs at least a lot closer to live. damn you channel 5!
