    Evenin',

Lookin' for a week away in September and have come across a deal for Mojacar in Costa De Almeria (east cost of Spain).

Anyone been here? According to the travel agent my girlfriend deals with (we've used her several times before and she can be trusted) it's a really nice place but isn't mental - which is what we're looking for. The apartments look really nice also.

    Cheers

    Shred,

Lovely place. If it's relaxation in nice surroundings, Mojácar is one of the nicest places on the south coast; although a bit more expensive than some of the surrounding resorts.

    Regards

    Gombin,

Thanks a lot for the feedback - we've decided that it may be *too* quiet though:(

    Cheers again!

    Shred,

If you're still thinking about going to that neck of the woods, check out Nerja or Almuñecar, both nice places.

    Regards.

ahhhh yes, the Costa Plastica ! Most of our fresh winter veg comes from around Almeria. Checkl out where the 'Dollars' spaghetti westerns were made about 20m inland from Almeria.

Much nicer than the costa del sol or the costa brava all the same, especially for chilling.

If you go to Mojocar...make sure you go to Al Gora - An italian restaurant there. Best italian restaurant ive ever eaten in and ive been to Rome and Milan. I also have particularly - actually AMAZING memories of this place because i scored one of the waitresses working there from Cuba. ABSOLUTE FIRECRACKER!!!

Anyway...good place. Bit quiet but with your friends/wife/girlfriend its perfect.

Also, rent a car and check out the beaches. Some amazing ones and you can get them all to yourself.

just back from Mojácar and yes it is Very Quiet. Perfect for chilling or with kids. Beaches are brilliant and its a good base for sightseeing. Granada beautiful city but put your walking shoes on. The Sierra Nevadas stunning driving along in blistering heat and surrounded by snow covered mountains. Cave dwelling people Spaghetti Westerns Acres of Greenhouses for the vegetables its a lovely place but as I say very quiet.
    gonk

Well from what you guys are saying it really does sound like a nice place for chillin out, but we've booked to go to Torremolinos (not my choice really, but we got a good deal) next Tuesday instead.

And Cannonfodder, the thread was started on 19-08-2003 at 18:34, you can see it under the amount of posts each user has - although you've probably sussed that out by now:)
