if only there was a antivirus-virus like this for all the major worms, it might save a lot of trouble ... or it may just make theinternet unusable with all the pinging and scanning etc...

I was discussing this the other day and we wondered why no one would make an anti-virus virus. Guess whoever created this is slightly ahead of our ponderings :D
Symantec Security Response has developed a removal tool to clean the infections of W32.Welchia.Worm.
hehe, a removal tool for a removla tool. Ingenius ;)

not particularly sure i want to hand control of my machine over to an antivirus-virus...just wouldn't be sure what else it would get up too...

i think i will take my chances with good av software...

i'd happily use anti-virus virus's, but only in extreme cases.

Its like developing a medicine to kill white blood cells, idiotic imo.

Not if you're trying to treat leukemia.

What if this anti-virus virus is hijacked and modified by someone?

obviously they are gonna bring out an anti virus tool for it as it is afterall still, a virus. I think its a good idea tho as the people who know nothing about having the original worm will now be patched and hopefully worm free.

Then you'd be no worse off then you are now seeing as it can only affect unpatched systems.

Well of course they're going to do this. They're not going to be too happy about people not needing antivirus software are they???

Personally I think it's a good idea for people who don't know any better. For the rest of us I like to know what's going on on my machine so I'll stick with my own AV software.

well then someone will just have to make an anti-virus to the anti-virus virus won't they?
