    I'm not sure if this counts as an advertisement or not, if it does I'm really sorry, I just strolled across this and thought it was pretty cool and I should share. There is a new contest being held by MTV, CTN(a non-profit organization that helps the environment), and the music artist NAS. The contest is called MTV's Free Ride Contest. The reason MTV, NAS, and CTN started this contest is because they want to make sure that today's kids, who are tomorrow's leaders, have the chance to go to school to get a good education so they can be what they want to be. They also want to stress environmental issues, and the importance of preserving the Earth we live on and as we all know this is really important. They're are some really great prizes involved, tons of dollars in scholarships and even an environmental safe hybrid car.

    Here is the complete list:
    Grand Prize Winner:
    A brand new hybrid car
    $50,000 college scholarship
    $6,000 in Finish Line clothing gear (over four years)
    One-year membership to the NRDC ($20 value)
    First Prize (2):
    $25,000 college scholarship
    One-year membership to the NRDC ($20 value)
    Second Prize (5)
    $1,000 Finish Line gift certificate

    When I found this contest I was kind of shocked because MTV usually is not a very positive thing, but I think that this is a really positive contest. Once again, I'm really sorry if this is considered an advertisment.

    And MTV aren't promoting this competition like mad on their own channel why?
