I've been trying to get my ibook to read some dvd+r's and rw's that I've burnt, with no joy unfortunately. It appears to spin the disk but gives up after about 3 seconds and won't mount it.

The drive is pretty modern (june 2002, a Toshiba SD-R2102) and it's listed on the compatibility table at dvdplusrw.org.

I tried lowering the burn speed to 2x and finalising the disk with no luck. Perhaps OS X itself is having trouble recognising them?

    (OS X 10.1.5, 700mhz iBook)

    ah forget it.

The SD-R2102 can't read the +R format according to the spec on Toshiba's site, apparently they're more on the -R side when it comes to recordable dvds.

I find it funny that the 5 year old toshiba drive in my pc has no trouble whatsoever with +R's....
